0bverse : The name of proprietor, TOKE, in monogram. GODINTON. HOP-TOKEN. 1767. The two T’S O£ the legend come by the corners of the T of the monogram.

Reverse : A basket heaping full of hops, NO PAINS NO GAINS. No band round the basket.

1767 Kent, Godinton; John Toke hop-pickers Brass Token (no denomination). A lovely late die state with dramatic fractured dies. Originally thought to be very rare by D&H but probably not quite that.
