1794 Buckinghamshire, Slough; William Till’s proof halfpenny, D&H 24. Struck in silver. Some trifling hairlines otherwise a stunning example, brilliant fields with attractive mint bloom. Virtually as struck, very rare.                    

Rarity – Very rare in this metal

UK Grade – Virtually as struck

US Grade – Gem uncirculated

Provenance: This piece, the ex-Peter Preston-Morley 1046 specimen. Part of the collection sold at DNW Auction 28 November 2001, lot 1046. Sold again at DNW in the David McDonald sale, DNW 3 October 2019, lot 575. Originally bought Spink February 1971. Exhibited at the BNS April 1980.
