Middlesex, Little Turnstile, Thomas Spence; DH 716, halfpenny struck in copper, 11.52g , 30.4mm. Struck on a broad planchet, planchet crack seems almost typical for type. Obverse with bold details, the Ass with slip lips – often the first area of this die to wear down. 185 London neatly written in lacquer in the fields. A richly toned example with strong eye appeal, good extremely fine . Rare.
