Lot 239 – Prattent’s Middlesex Prattent’s mule halfpenny D&H 921, RRR.
18th Century Provincial Tokens of England, Middlesex
Middlesex, St. Martins Lane, William Williams; DH 921, Prattent’s mule halfpenny struck in copper, 10.68g , 32.13mm. A very seldom seen offering and one that brings our variety count of this reverse to four in this sale, of the five across the entire series. This variety, certainly one of the toughest with perhaps 6-8 pieces known. A dramatic strike, reverse nicely dished with outstretched rims, making the diameter closer to penny size. Some parts toned but sharp strike, bronzed, extremely fine . RRR.
