18^th Century Provincial Tokens, Carmarthenshire

Carmarthen, John Morgan, Undated; D&H 3, Hancock’s uniface halfpenny struck in copper. 14.74g, with edge as PAYABLE AT LONDON BRISTOL AND CARMARTHEN. A wonderful and sharp representation of the Iron Works, fully struck up. Some typical softness in the legends, slight planchet clip visible from the reverse. Otherwise, an attractive example overall with hints of original colour. Exceedingly rare, less than a handful known, good extremely fine.
