Glasgow, William Lutwyche; D&H 7a, halfpenny mule struck in copper, 6.76g. Struck from late dies as always, most likely near-terminal stages. Otherwise, attractive deep red and brown fields with exceptional provenance. Extremely fine.

 

Provenance: P.C. Deane Sale, Baldwin Auction October 2022, lot 391 (part); Ex-F.S. Cokayne Collection, bought by him 13 June 1904; then, acquired by Baldwin 1946.
