18^th Century Provincial Tokens, Cambridgeshire

Cambridge, James Burleigh; D&H 9a, struck in copper with plain edge. 22.22g. A wonderful specimen, likely struck after the standard lettered edge variety with some flaws developing on parts of the rim. Otherwise, a sharp and full strike with attractive fields. One of the finest examples of this plain edge variety to be sold at auction, a grade absent from many of the high profile collections sold within the past 20 at least. Very rare, good extremely fine or better.
