18^th Century Provincial Tokens, Yorkshire

York, Peter Kempson; D&H 61, Skidmore’s Constitutional Society halfpenny struck in copper, 12.59g. This variety struck over a Macclesfield halfpenny with host clearly visible. Sharp and crisp throughout, problem-free, brilliant fields with substantial original colour. This, the Baldwin Basement specimen from 2014 and the finest offered at auction in recent times and the second opportunity for this piece to be offered within the last 100 years. Rare, virtually as struck.
