County Clare, Cork & Kerry, Munster, Thomas Prattent; D&H 7b – Var, halfpenny mule struck in copper. This piece, overstruck on a Hampshire 16 host, planchet broadly expanded as a result of the forceful strike with resulting fracture. Sharp, with under type showing through mostly around the peripherals. Brown with faded red, good extremely fine but mostly as made (Nr Gem UNC), extremely rare, possibly unique as an overstrike. Extremely rare variety, possibly unique.
