Northumberland, Newcastle, Thomas Spence; D&H 14, halfpenny mule struck in copper. Another choice, dark brown and red example. Notice the reverse rim at 6 o’clock show what might be mistaken as bruises but are actually part of the edge device, as struck. Sharp with strong eye appeal, good extremely fine. Scarce.
