Northumberland, Newcastle, Thomas Spence; D&H 19, halfpenny mule struck in copper. From Jeremiah Spence to the first of four wonderful Coaly Tyne mules. Severe die cud as issued on all the mule varieties and all have consequent impact flaws to reverse strike. First up, the Three Thomas’s die. A couple of very trifling spots otherwise about mint state (Gem) and very scarce. Scarce.
