Lot 169 – Middlesex Spence halfpenny D&H 782
Cobwright Collection of Thomas Spence, Part II, Middlesex
Middlesex, Little Turnstile, Thomas Spence; D&H 782, halfpenny struck in copper. Finally, George gets a moment to himself having been muled for the previous six lots. Struck from a mid obverse die state but relief good. Reverse with some flaws that are embedded in the die. A choice example with attractive reflective fields and hints of red. Good extremely fine or nearly so.
