Lot 21 – Dublin Imitation Camac Halfpenny D&H 197, RRR
18th Century Provincial Tokens of Ireland, County Dublin
County Dublin, Dublin, Issuer Uncertain; D&H 197, imitation halfpenny struck in copper. Crude imitation but a close spelling if not for PARLERMENT. Struck on a thin lightweight planchet, just 4.98g. Obverse legends only partially struck up, reverse missing the word HALFPENNY entirely. Remnants of an attempted edge device but unreadable. All as made, fascinating example. Perhaps fine or better. Extremely rare.
