Northumberland, Newcastle, Thomas Spence; D&H 28, farthing struck in copper. Finalising the trip to Spence’s North, a couple of rare farthings. This first variety, the miniature Sailor, very scarce. Flaws visible on the surfaces, mostly denticles from the die. Attractive bronzed fields, extremely fine. Rare.
